At-Taubah | Repentance سورة التوبة  Sura # 9 | Madina

9-53.           قُلْ أَنْفِقُوا طَوْعًا أَوْ كَرْهًا لَنْ يُتَقَبَّلَ مِنْكُمْ ۖ إِنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ قَوْمًا فَاسِقِينَ

    

[Ahmed Ali]     کہہ دو تم خوشی سے خر چ کرو یا ناخوشی سے تم سے ہرگز قبول نہیں کیا جائے گا بے شک تم نافرمان لوگ ہو

    

[Yusuf Ali]     Say: "Spend (for the cause) willingly or unwillingly: not from you will it be accepted: for ye are indeed a people rebellious and wicked."

9-54.           وَمَا مَنَعَهُمْ أَنْ تُقْبَلَ مِنْهُمْ نَفَقَاتُهُمْ إِلَّا أَنَّهُمْ كَفَرُوا بِاللَّهِ وَبِرَسُولِهِ وَلَا يَأْتُونَ الصَّلَاةَ إِلَّا وَهُمْ كُسَالَىٰ وَلَا يُنْفِقُونَ إِلَّا وَهُمْ كَارِهُونَ

    

[Ahmed Ali]     اور ان کے خر چ کے قبول ہونے سے کوئی چیز مانع نہیں ہوئی سوائے اس کے کہ انہوں نے الله اور اس کے رسول سے کفرکیا اورنماز میں سست ہو کر آتے ہیں اور ناخوش ہو کر خرچ کرتے ہیں

    

[Yusuf Ali]     The only reasons why their contributions are not accepted are:

that they reject Allah and His Messenger; 

that they come to prayer without earnestness; 

and that they offer contributions unwillingly.

9-55.           فَلَا تُعْجِبْكَ أَمْوَالُهُمْ وَلَا أَوْلَادُهُمْ ۚ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُعَذِّبَهُمْ بِهَا فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَتَزْهَقَ أَنْفُسُهُمْ وَهُمْ كَافِرُونَ

    

 [Ahmed Ali]     سو تو ان کے مال اور اولاد سے تعجب نہ کر الله یہی چاہتا ہے کہ ان چیزوں کی وجہ سے دنیا کی زندگی میں انہیں عذاب دے اور کفر کی حالت میں ان کی جانیں نکلیں

9-82.           فَلْيَضْحَكُوا قَلِيلًا وَلْيَبْكُوا كَثِيرًا جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ

    

 [Ahmed Ali]     سووہ تھوڑا سا ہنسیں اور زیادہ روئیں ان کے اعمال کے بدلے جو کرتے رہے ہیں

    

 [Yusuf Ali]     Let them laugh a little: much will they weep: a recompense for the (evil) that they do.

9-83.           فَإِنْ رَجَعَكَ اللَّهُ إِلَىٰ طَائِفَةٍ مِنْهُمْ فَاسْتَأْذَنُوكَ لِلْخُرُوجِ فَقُلْ لَنْ تَخْرُجُوا مَعِيَ أَبَدًا وَلَنْ تُقَاتِلُوا مَعِيَ عَدُوًّا ۖ إِنَّكُمْ رَضِيتُمْ بِالْقُعُودِ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ فَاقْعُدُوا مَعَ الْخَالِفِينَ

   

[Ahmed Ali]     سواگر تجھے الله ان میں سے کسی فرقہ کی طرف پھر لے جائے پھر تجھ سے نکلنے کی اجازت چاہیں تو کہہ دو کہ تم میرے ساتھ کبھی بھی ہرگز نہ نکلو گے اور میرے ساتھ ہو کر کسی دشمن سے نہ لڑو گے تمہیں پہلی مرتبہ بیٹھنا پسند آیا سو پیچھے رہنے والوں کے ساتھ بیٹھے رہو

    

 [Yusuf Ali]     If, then Allah bring thee back to any of them, 

and they ask thy permission to come out (with thee), 

say: "Never shall ye come out with me, nor fight an enemy with me: 

for ye preferred to sit inactive on the first occasion: 

then sit ye (now) with those who stay behind."

9-84.           وَلَا تُصَلِّ عَلَىٰ أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْ مَاتَ أَبَدًا وَلَا تَقُمْ عَلَىٰ قَبْرِهِ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَفَرُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَمَاتُوا وَهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ

    

 [Ahmed Ali]     اوران میں سے جو مرجائے کسی پر کبھی نماز نہ پڑھ اور نہ اس کی قبر پر کھڑا ہو بے شک انہوں نے الله اور اس کے رسول سے کفر کیا اور نافرمانی کی حالت میں مر گئے

    

 [Yusuf Ali]     Nor do thou ever pray for any of them that dies, 

nor stand at his grave: 

for they rejected Allah and His Messenger

and died in a state of perverse rebellion.

9-85.           وَلَا تُعْجِبْكَ أَمْوَالُهُمْ وَأَوْلَادُهُمْ ۚ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ أَنْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ بِهَا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَتَزْهَقَ أَنْفُسُهُمْ وَهُمْ كَافِرُونَ

    

 [Ahmed Ali]     اور ان کے مالوں اوراولاد سے تعجب نہ کر الله یہی چاہتا ہے کہ انہیں ان چیزوں کے باعث دنیا میں عذاب دے اور ان کی جانیں نکلیں ایسے حال میں کہ وہ کافر ہی ہوں
