Rules-Army Training War,s Rules---S47/4/ Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; at length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them):

   Rules of war

Muhammad  سورة محمد  Sura # 47 | Madina

47-4.           فَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَضَرْبَ الرِّقَابِ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَثْخَنْتُمُوهُمْ فَشُدُّوا الْوَثَاقَ فَإِمَّا مَنًّا بَعْدُ وَإِمَّا فِدَاءً حَتَّىٰ تَضَعَ الْحَرْبُ أَوْزَارَهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَوْ يَشَاءُ اللَّهُ لَانْتَصَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَلَٰكِنْ لِيَبْلُوَ بَعْضَكُمْ بِبَعْضٍ ۗ وَالَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَلَنْ يُضِلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْ

    

[Ahmed Ali]     پس جب تم ان کے مقابل ہو جو کافر ہیں تو ان کی گردنیں مارو یہاں تک کہ جب تم ان کو خوب مغلوب کر لو تو ان کی مشکیں کس لو پھر یا تو اس کے بعد احسان کرو یا تاوان لے لو یہاں تک کہ لڑائی اپنے ہتھیار ڈال دے یہی (حکم) ہے اور اگر الله چاہتا تو ان سے خود ہی بدلہ لے لیتا لیکن وہ تمہارا ایک دوسرے کے ساتھ امتحان کرنا چاہتا ہے اور جو الله کی راہ میں مارے گئے ہیں الله ان کے اعمال برباد نہیں کرے گا

    

[Yusuf Ali]     Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight),

smite at their necks; 

at length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them,

bind a bond firmly (on them):

therefore (is the time for) either generosity or ransom:

until the war lays down its burdens. 

Thus (are ye commanded):

but if it had been Allah's Will,

he could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); 

but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, 

some with others. 

But those who are slain in the way of Allah he will never let their deeds be lost.

48-25.           هُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوكُمْ عَنِ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَالْهَدْيَ مَعْكُوفًا أَنْ يَبْلُغَ مَحِلَّهُ ۚ وَلَوْلَا رِجَالٌ مُؤْمِنُونَ وَنِسَاءٌ مُؤْمِنَاتٌ لَمْ تَعْلَمُوهُمْ أَنْ تَطَئُوهُمْ فَتُصِيبَكُمْ مِنْهُمْ مَعَرَّةٌ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۖ لِيُدْخِلَ اللَّهُ فِي رَحْمَتِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۚ لَوْ تَزَيَّلُوا لَعَذَّبْنَا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا

   

 [Ahmed Ali]     وہ تو وہی ہیں جنہوں نے انکار کیا اور تمہیں مسجد حرام سے روکا اور قربانی کے جانوروں کو روکے رکھا اس سے کہ وہ اپنی قربان گاہ تک پہنچیں اور اگر کچھ مرد ایمان والے اور عورتیں ایمان والی نہ ہوتیں جنہیں تم نہیں جانتے تھے کہ تم انہیں پامال کر دیتے پھر ان کی طرف سے تم پر نادانستگی سے الزام آتا (تو تمہیں لڑنے سے نہ روکا جاتا) تاکہ الله اپنی رحمت میں جسے چاہے داخل کرے اگر وہ ٹل گئے ہوتے تو ہم ان میں سے جو کافر ہیں انہیں دردناک عذاب دیتے

   

 [Yusuf Ali]     They are the ones who denied revelation 

and hindered you from the Sacred Mosque 

and the sacrificial animals, 

detained from reaching their place of sacrifice. 

Had there not been believing men 

and believing women 

whom ye did not know 

that ye were trampling down 

and on whose account a guilt would have accrued to you without (your) knowledge. 

(Allah would have allowed you to force your way, 

but He held back your hands) that 

He may admit to His Mercy whom He will. 

If they had been apart, 

We should certainly have punished the Unbelievers among them with a grievous punishment.
