Preparation for war each muslim duty ,--S9-/46/92/-- If they had intended to come out, they would certainly have made some preparation therefor; but Allah was averse to their being sent forth; so He made them lag behind and they were told "sit ye among those who sit (inactive)."

At-Taubah | Repentance سورة التوبة  Sura # 9 | Madina

9-46.           ۞ وَلَوْ أَرَادُوا الْخُرُوجَ لَأَعَدُّوا لَهُ عُدَّةً وَلَٰكِنْ كَرِهَ اللَّهُ انْبِعَاثَهُمْ فَثَبَّطَهُمْ وَقِيلَ اقْعُدُوا مَعَ الْقَاعِدِينَ

    

[Ahmed Ali]     اور اگر وہ نکلنا چاہتے تو اس کے لیے کوئی سامان ضرور تیار کرتے لیکن الله نے ان کا اٹھنا پسند نہ کیا سو انہیں روک دیا اور حکم ہوا کہ بیٹھنے والوں کے ساتھ بیٹھے رہو

9-92.           وَلَا عَلَى الَّذِينَ إِذَا مَا أَتَوْكَ لِتَحْمِلَهُمْ قُلْتَ لَا أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ تَوَلَّوْا وَأَعْيُنُهُمْ تَفِيضُ مِنَ الدَّمْعِ حَزَنًا أَلَّا يَجِدُوا مَا يُنْفِقُونَ

    

 [Ahmed Ali]     اور ان لوگو ں پر بھی کوئی گناہ نہیں کہ جب وہ تیرے پاس آئیں کہ انہیں سواری دے تو نے کہا میرے پاس کوئی چیز نہیں کہ تمہیں اس پر سوار کر دوں تو وہ لوٹ گئے اوراس غم سے کہ ان کے پاس خرچ موجود نہیں تھا ان کی آنکھوں سے آنسو بہہ رہے تھے

    

 [Yusuf Ali]     Nor (is there blame) on those who came to thee to be provided with mount, and when thou saidst "

I can find no mounts for you," 

they turned back, their eyes streaming with tears of grief 

that they had no resources wherewith to provide the expenses.
