Sura # 2 | MadinaSura # 2 | Madina سورة البقرةAl-Baqara The Cow
2/83. وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ لَا تَعْبُدُونَ إِلَّا اللَّهَ وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا وَذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَالْيَتَامَىٰ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَقُولُوا لِلنَّاسِ حُسْنًا وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِنْكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ مُعْرِضُونَ
[Ahmed Ali] اور جب ہم نے بنی اسرائیل سے عہد لیا کہ الله کے سوا کسی کی عبادت نہ کرنا اور ماں باپ اور رشتہ داروں اور یتیموں اور محتاجوں سے اچھا سلوک کرنا اور لوگوں سے اچھی بات کہنا اور نماز قائم کرنا اور زکوةٰ دینا پھر سوائے چند آدمیوں کے تم میں سے سب منہ موڑ کر پھر گئے
[Yusuf Ali] And remember We took a covenant from the children of Israel (to this effect):
worship none but Allah;
treat with kindness your parents and kindred, and orphans and those in need;
speak fair to the people; be steadfast in prayer; and give Zakat.
then did ye turn back except a few among you, and ye backslide (even now).

2/84. وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ لَا تَسْفِكُونَ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَلَا تُخْرِجُونَ أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنْ دِيَارِكُمْ ثُمَّ أَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ
[Ahmed Ali] اور جب ہم نے تم سے عہد لیا کہ آپس میں خونریزی نہ کرنا اور نہ اپنے لوگوں کو جلا وطن کرنا پھر تم نے اقرار کیا اور تم خود گواہ ہو
[Yusuf Ali] And remember We took your Covenant (to this effect):
shed no blood amongst you, nor turn out your own people from your homes;
and this ye solemnly ratified, and to this you were witness.

2/85. ثُمَّ أَنْتُمْ هَٰؤُلَاءِ تَقْتُلُونَ أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَتُخْرِجُونَ فَرِيقًا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ تَظَاهَرُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِالْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ وَإِنْ يَأْتُوكُمْ أُسَارَىٰ تُفَادُوهُمْ وَهُوَ مُحَرَّمٌ عَلَيْكُمْ إِخْرَاجُهُمْ ۚ أَفَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِبَعْضِ الْكِتَابِ وَتَكْفُرُونَ بِبَعْضٍ ۚ فَمَا جَزَاءُ مَنْ يَفْعَلُ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْكُمْ إِلَّا خِزْيٌ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَيَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ أَشَدِّ الْعَذَابِ ۗ وَمَا اللَّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
[Ahmed Ali] پھر تم ہی وہ ہو کہ اپنے لوگوں کو قتل کرتے ہو اور ایک جماعت کو اپنے میں سے ان کے گھروں میں سے نکالتے ہو ان پر گناہ اور ظلم سے چڑھائی کرتے ہو اور اگر وہ تمہارے پاس قیدی ہو کر آئیں تو ان کا تاوان دیتے ہو حالانکہ تم پر ان کا نکالنا بھی حرام تھا کیا تم کتاب کے ایک حصہ پرایمان رکھتے ہو اور دوسرے حصہ کا انکار کرتے ہو پھرجو تم میں سے ایسا کرے اس کی یہی سزا ہے کہ دنیا میں ذلیل ہو اور قیامت کے دن بھی سخت عذاب میں دھکیلے جائیں اور الله اس سے بے خبر نہیں جو تم کرتے ہو
[Yusuf Ali] After this it is ye, the same people, who slay among yourselves,
and banish a party of you from their homes; assist (their enemies) against them, in guilt
and tronsgression; and if they come to you as captives, ye ransom them,
though it was not lawful for you to banish them.
Then is it only a part of the Book that ye believe in, and do ye reject the rest?
But what is the reward for those among you
who behave like this but disgrace in this life? -
and on the Day of Judgment they shall be consigned to the most grievous penalty
For Allah is not unmindful of what ye do.

2-86. أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ اشْتَرَوُا الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا بِالْآخِرَةِ ۖ فَلَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنْصَرُونَ
[Ahmed Ali] یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے دنیا کی زندگی کو آخرت کے بدلہ خریدا سو ان سے عذاب ہلکانہ کیا جائے گا اور نہ انہیں
کوئی مدد مل سکے گی
[Yusuf Ali] These are the people who buy the life of this world at the price of the Hereafter;
their penalty shall not be lightened nor shall they be helped.

6-70. w وَذَرِ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا دِينَهُمْ لَعِبًا وَلَهْوًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا ۚ وَذَكِّرْ بِهِ أَنْ تُبْسَلَ نَفْسٌ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ لَيْسَ لَهَا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلِيٌّ وَلَا شَفِيعٌ وَإِنْ تَعْدِلْ كُلَّ عَدْلٍ لَا يُؤْخَذْ مِنْهَا ۗ أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ أُبْسِلُوا بِمَا كَسَبُوا ۖ لَهُمْ شَرَابٌ مِنْ حَمِيمٍ وَعَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْفُرُونَ
[Ahmed Ali] اور انہیں چھوڑ دو جنہوں نے اپنے دین کو کھیل اور تماشا بنا رکھا ہے اور دنیاکی زندگی نے انہیں دھوکہ دیا ہے اور انہیں قرآن سے نصیحت کرتا تاکہ کوئی اپنے کیے میں گرفتار نہ ہو جائے کہ اس کے لیے الله کے سوا کوئی دوست اور سفارش کرنے والا نہ ہوگا اور اگر دنیا بھر کا معاوضہ بھی دے گا تب بھی اس سے نہ لیا جائے گا یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جو اپنے کیے میں گرفتار ہوئے ان کے پینے کے لیے گرم پانی ہوگا اور ان کے کفر کے بدلہ میں دردناک عذاب ہو گا
[Yusuf Ali] Leave alone those who take their religion to be mere play and amusement,
and are deceived by the life of this world.
But proclaim (to them) this (truth): that every soul delivers itself to ruin by its own acts:
it will find for itself no protector or intercessor except Allah:
if it offered every ransom, (or reparation), none will be accepted:
such is (the end of) those who deliver themselves to ruin by their own acts:
they will have for drink (only) boiling water, and for punishment one most grievous: for they persisted in rejecting Allah.
