ADN-LIFE -Similitude- اور جب انہیں ہماری کھلی ہوئی آیتیں سنائی جاتی ہیں تو کافر ایمان داروں سے کہتے ہیں دونوں فریقوں میں سے کس کا مرتبہ بہتر ہے اور محفل کس کی اچھی ہے [Yusuf Ali] When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, the Unbelievers say to those who believe "Which of the two sides is best in point of position? Which makes the best show in council?"

WHAT IS THIS LIFE?

Lesson

The life of this world is but play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting and multiplying, (in rivalry) among
yourselves, riches and children:                                                                                                                

Here is a similitude: how rain and the growth which it brings forth, delight (the hearts of) the tillers; soon it

withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then it becomes dry and crumbles away.

came on the (garden) a visitation from thy from thy Lord, (which swept awe)

57/20.           اعْلَمُوا أَنَّمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ وَزِينَةٌ وَتَفَاخُرٌ بَيْنَكُمْ وَتَكَاثُرٌ فِي الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَوْلَادِ ۖ كَمَثَلِ غَيْثٍ أَعْجَبَ الْكُفَّارَ نَبَاتُهُ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَاهُ مُصْفَرًّا ثُمَّ يَكُونُ حُطَامًا ۖ وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرِضْوَانٌ ۚ وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِ

   

 [Ahmed Ali]     جان لو کہ یہ دنیا کی زندگی محض کھیل اور تماشا اور زیبائش اور ایک دوسرے پر آپس میں فخر کرنا اور ایک دوسرے پر مال اور اولاد میں زیادتی چاہنا ہے جیسے بارش کی حالت کہ اس کی سبزی نے کسانوں کو خوش کر دیا پھر وہ خشک ہو جاتی ہے تو تو اسے زرد شدہ دیکھتا ہے پھر وہ چورا چورا ہو جاتی ہے اور آخرت میں سخت عذاب ہے اور الله کی مغفرت اور اس کی خوشنودی ہے اور دنیاکی زندگی سوائے دھوکے کے اسباب کے اور کیا ہے

   


 [Yusuf Ali]     Know ye (all), that the life of this world is but play and amusement, pomp

and mutual boasting and multiplying, (in rivalry) among yourselves, riches and children:

Here is a similitude: how rain and the growth which it brings forth, delight (the hearts of) the tillers;

soon it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then it becomes dry and crumbles away.

But in the Hereafter is a Penalty severe (for the devotees of wrong)

And Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the devotees of Allah). And what is the life of this

world, but goods and chattels of deception?

 -29-64.w      وَمَا هَٰذِهِ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا لَهْوٌ وَلَعِبٌ ۚ وَإِنَّ الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ لَهِيَ الْحَيَوَانُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ
    
 [Ahmed Ali]     اور یہ دنیا کی زندگی تو صرف کھیل اور تماشا ہے اور اصل زندگی عالم آخرت کی ہے کاش وہ سمجھتے
    

 [Yusuf Ali]     What is the life of this world but amusement and play?

But verily the Home in the Hereafter  that is life indeed if they but knew.

SURA AL QALAM 68/17.           إِنَّا بَلَوْنَاهُمْ كَمَا بَلَوْنَا أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ إِذْ أَقْسَمُوا لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَا مُصْبِحِينَ
   
 [Ahmed Ali]     بے شک ہم نے ان کو آزمایا ہے جیسا کہ ہم نے باغ والوں کو آزمایا تھا جب انہوں نے قسم کھائی تھی کہ وہ ضرور صبح ہوتے ہی اس کا پھل توڑ لیں گے
    

 [Yusuf Ali]     Verily We have tried them as We tried the people of the Garden 

when they resolved to gather the fruits of the (garden) in the morning.
 

68/18.           وَلَا يَسْتَثْنُونَ
    
 [Ahmed Ali]     اور انشاالله بھی نہ کہا تھا
    



 [Yusuf Ali]     But made no reservation, ("If it be Allah's Will").
 



68/19.           فَطَافَ عَلَيْهَا طَائِفٌ مِنْ رَبِّكَ وَهُمْ نَائِمُونَ
  


   [Ahmed Ali]     پھر تو اس پر رات ہی میں آپ کے رب کی طرف سے ایک جھونکا چل گیا درآنحالیکہ وہ سونے والے تھے
   

 [Yusuf Ali]     Then there ay) all around while they were asleep.
 

68/20.           فَأَصْبَحَتْ كَالصَّرِيمِ
  

   [Ahmed Ali]     پھر وہ کٹی ہوئی کھیتی کی طرح ہو گیا
   

 [Yusuf Ali]     So the (garden) became, by the morning, like a dark and desolate spot, (whose fruit had been gathered).
 

68/21.           فَتَنَادَوْا مُصْبِحِينَ
  

   [Ahmed Ali]     پھر وہ صبح کو پکارنے لگے
   

 [Yusuf Ali]     As the morning broke, they called out one to another―
 

68/22.           أَنِ اغْدُوا عَلَىٰ حَرْثِكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَارِمِينَ
   

 [Ahmed Ali]     کہ اپنے کھیت پر سویرے چلو اگر تم نے پھل توڑنا ہے
   

 [Yusuf Ali]     "Go ye to your tilth (betimes) in morning, if ye would gather the fruits."
 


68/23.           فَانْطَلَقُوا وَهُمْ يَتَخَافَتُونَ
   

 [Ahmed Ali]     پھر وہ آپس میں چپکے چپکے یہ کہتے ہوئے چلے
   

 [Yusuf Ali]     So they departed, conversing in secret low tones, (saying)―
 

68/24.           أَنْ لَا يَدْخُلَنَّهَا الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِسْكِينٌ
   

 [Ahmed Ali]     کہ تمہارے باغ میں آج کوئی محتاج نہ آنے پائے
   

 [Yusuf Ali]     "Let not a single indigent person break in upon you into the (garden) this day."
 

68/25.           وَغَدَوْا عَلَىٰ حَرْدٍ قَادِرِينَ
    

 [Ahmed Ali]     اور وہ سویرے ہی بڑے اہتمام سے پھل توڑنے کی قدرت کا خیال کر کے چل پڑے
     

[Yusuf Ali]     And they opened the morning, strong in an (unjust) resolve.
 

68/26.           فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهَا قَالُوا إِنَّا لَضَالُّونَ
   

 [Ahmed Ali]     پس جب انہوں نے اسے دیکھا تو کہنے لگےکہ ہم تو راہ بھول گئے ہیں
    

 [Yusuf Ali]     But when they saw the (garden), they said: "We have surely lost our way:
 

68/27.           بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ
    

 [Ahmed Ali]     بلکہ ہم تو بدنصیب ہیں
    

 [Yusuf Ali]     "Indeed we are shut out (of the fruits of our labour)!"
 

68/28.           قَالَ أَوْسَطُهُمْ أَلَمْ أَقُلْ لَكُمْ لَوْلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ
    

 [Ahmed Ali]     پھر ان میں سے اچھے آدمی نے کہا کیامیں نے تمہیں نہیں کہا تھا کہ تم کس لیے تسبیح نہیں کرتے
    

 [Yusuf Ali]     Said one of them, more just (than the rest): "Did I not say to you `Why not glorify (Allah)?' "
 

68/29.           قَالُوا سُبْحَانَ رَبِّنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ
    

 [Ahmed Ali]     انہوں نے کہا ہمارا رب پاک ہے بے شک ہم ظالم تھے
   

 [Yusuf Ali]     They said: "Glory to our Lord! Verily we have been doing wrong!"
 

68/30.           فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَلَاوَمُونَ
    

 [Ahmed Ali]     پھر ایک دوسرے کی طرف متوجہ ہو کر آپس میں ملامت کرنے لگے
    

 [Yusuf Ali]     Then they turned, one against another in reproach.
 

68/31.           قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا طَاغِينَ
   

 [Ahmed Ali]     انہوں نے کہا ہائے افسوس بے شک ہم سرکش تھے
   

 [Yusuf Ali]     They said: "Alas for us! We have indeed transgressed!
 


68/32.           عَسَىٰ رَبُّنَا أَنْ يُبْدِلَنَا خَيْرًا مِنْهَا إِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا رَاغِبُونَ
    

 [Ahmed Ali]     شاید ہمارا رب ہمارے لیے اس سے بہتر باغ بدل دے بے شک ہم اپنے رب کی طرف رجوع کرنے والے ہیں
    

 [Yusuf Ali]     "It may be that our Lord will give us in exchange a better (garden) than this: for we do turn to Him (in repentance)!"
 


68/33.           كَذَٰلِكَ الْعَذَابُ ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ
    

 [Ahmed Ali]     عذاب یونہی ہوا کرتا ہے اور البتہ آخرت کا عذاب تو کہیں بڑھ کر ہے کاش وہ جانتے
    

 [Yusuf Ali]     Such is the Punishment (in this life); but greater is the Punishment in the Hereafter― if only they knew!
