"Which of the two sides is best in point of position? Which makes the best show in council                        

"We believe not in the (Message) with which ye have been sentWe have more in wealth and in sons, and we cannot be punished."   

man who rejects Our Signs, yet says: "I shall certainly be given wealth and children"?

Maryam  Mary  سورة مريم  Sura # 19 | Makkah B
BDN-19-73.           وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَيُّ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ خَيْرٌ مَقَامًا وَأَحْسَنُ نَدِيًّا                       


 [Ahmed Ali]     اور جب انہیں ہماری کھلی ہوئی آیتیں سنائی جاتی ہیں تو کافر ایمان داروں سے کہتے ہیں دونوں فریقوں میں سے کس کا مرتبہ بہتر ہے اور محفل کس کی اچھی ہے


 [Yusuf Ali]     When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, the Unbelievers say to those who believe "Which of the two sides is best in point of position? Which makes the best show in council?"

 


BDN-Saba |  سورة سبأ  Sura # 34 | Makkah

34-34.           وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا فِي قَرْيَةٍ مِنْ نَذِيرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَا إِنَّا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُمْ بِهِ كَافِرُونَ

[Ahmed Ali]     اور ہم نے جس کسی بستی میں کوئی ڈرانے والا بھیجا تو وہاں کے دولتمندوں نے یہی کہا کہ تم جو لے کر آئے ہو ہم نہیں مانتے

   
[Yusuf Ali]     Never did We send a Warner to a population, but the wealthy ones among them said:

"We believe not in the (Message) with which ye have been sent."

Saba |  سورة سبأ  Sura # 34 | Makkah

BDN-34-35.           وَقَالُوا نَحْنُ أَكْثَرُ أَمْوَالًا وَأَوْلَادًا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ                                                               

   
[Ahmed Ali]     اور یہ بھی کہا کہ ہم مال اوراولاد میں تم سے بڑھ کر ہیں اور ہمیں کوئی عذاب نہ دیا جائے گا

   
[Yusuf Ali]     They said: "We have more in wealth and in sons, and we cannot be punished."

BDN--I9/77.           أَفَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي كَفَرَ بِآيَاتِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنَّ مَالًا وَوَلَدًا
    

 [Ahmed Ali]     کیا تو نے اس شخص کو دیکھا جس نے ہماری آیتوں کا انکار کیا اور کہتا ہے کہ مجھے ضرور مال اور اولاد ملے گی
     

[Yusuf Ali]     Hast thou then seen the (sort of) man who rejects Our Signs, yet says: 
"I shall certainly be given wealth and children"?

BDN--19/78.           أَطَّلَعَ الْغَيْبَ أَمِ اتَّخَذَ عِنْدَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًا
   

[Ahmed Ali]     کیا اس نے غیب پر اطلاع پائی ہے یا اس نے الله سے اقرار لے رکھا ہے
   

 [Yusuf Ali]     Has he penetrated to the Unseen, or has he taken a promise with (Allah) Most Gracious?

BDN--19/79.           كَلَّا ۚ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا يَقُولُ وَنَمُدُّ لَهُ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ مَدًّا
   

 [Ahmed Ali]     ہرگز نہیں ہم لکھ لیتے ہیں جو کچھ وہ کہتا ہے اور اس کے لیے عذاب بڑھاتے جاتے ہیں
   

 [Yusuf Ali]     Nay! We shall record what he says, and We Shall add and add to his punishment.
